Content Guidelines
The Cyber Press editorial board reviews all press releases before they are distributed to ensure they comply with our established guidelines and give value to the media and other potential readers.
Releases submitted to Cyber Press should have a newsworthy slant, be free of advertising promotion, and conform to the AP format.
This is going to assist in preventing unnecessary delays in the approval process.
Here are the following content guidelines that we request that you comply with.
Mention the Source:
Please include the name of the press release source in the headline, summary, and/or first paragraph. To ensure the reader knows where the information comes from, press releases must explicitly mention the source (company/organization highlighted) towards the top of the release.
Valid Media Contact Information:
Press releases must include at least a valid email address in the contact information. Other information, such as the direct media contact’s name and phone number, may be required for some distribution options.
The Tone:
Unless used within a citation from a firm or organization’s spokesperson, Cyber Press press releases should be free of hype flags and first-person/direct address (i.e., “you,” “I,” “we,” etc.). Using a direct address could indicate that the content is an advertisement rather than a news release. Similarly, hype flags — exclamation points, exaggerated product/service promises, descriptions of a product or service as “AMAZING,” or using capital characters to emphasize — may question your news announcement’s reliability.
Content Relevancy:
Timely and newsworthy content includes timely information about a new product or service, an organization’s expansion or recent event, an organizational milestone such as an anniversary or award, or the release of a tip sheet or expert opinion on a current news topic. The headline of the article must correctly state the news announcement. Do not use your press release to advertise or to post a general interest piece, “open letters,” or any other type of content that lacks attribution and/or news value. Newsworthy content samples include, but are not limited to:
- – The debut of a new firm product, website, hiring, or staff changes.
- – Upcoming industry events like trade exhibitions, conferences, seminars, and so on.
- – Announcements of the publication of a Whitepaper or a new research project.
- – Company recognition or industry awards.
- – Announcements about upcoming store openings or company events.
- – Business alliances or transactions.
- – Publication of a new book, whitepapersm research papers.
Proper Spelling and Grammar:
The press release must employ appropriate language, spelling, punctuation marks, abbreviations or acronyms, adequate space between words, and capitalization.
Standard Press Release Length (400-900 Words) – Your release’s length directly impacts its dissemination, and press releases that are too short or too long may need to be indexed in search engines.
Accurate and factual information – All information in a news release must be legally and factually correct.
Written Authorization:
In some cases, such as when dealing with network marketing companies or affiliated third parties, when using a stock ticker symbol, or when dealing with major corporate announcements such as (but not limited to) Mergers & Acquisitions, Venture or Equity Capital Investment Announcements… Cyber Press may require written authorization from a company executive before a press release is approved for distribution.

Editorial Guidelines
Tier 1 – An editor does the initial read and evaluation of all press release submissions. This is to ensure that all editorial and content requirements are followed.
Tier 2 – If the release is more technical or requires additional assessment, a Staff Editor submits the press release submission to a Senior Editor, who then continues analyzing the supplied content’s varying technical and factual matters.
Tier 3 – Our editorial staff may request additional verification for specific releases involving celebrity endorsements, cryptocurrency, collaborations, agreements, venture capital, and other susceptible material. Additional verification/authorization forms can be downloaded from our staff (editorial@services.cyberpress.org).
If any revisions are necessary after submission, a re-processing fee may apply. Please contact our Editorial team for assistance with any changes to a release after approval or publishing.
For immediate assistance, please Reach out via Live chat. After these steps have concluded, the press release submission proceeds, and if no other verification is needed, the release continues to live publication.
When writing a press release, there are several guidelines to ensure that your message is clear, concise, and effective in communicating your news. Here are some key elements to keep in mind:
- Start with a strong headline: Your headline should grab the reader’s attention and succinctly convey the most crucial aspect of your news.
- Write a compelling lead: Your first sentence should elaborate on your headline and give the reader a reason to keep reading.
- Use the inverted pyramid structure: Start with the most critical information, then move on to supporting details.
- Stick to the facts: Avoid hype or overly promotional language, and focus on presenting the news objectively.
- Include quotes: Quotes from relevant sources can add credibility and interest to your story.
- Provide background information: Give readers context and background information on your news, including relevant statistics or industry insights.
- Keep it concise: Stick to one page if possible, and avoid unnecessary fluff.
- Please include contact information: Include a contact person and their information so readers can follow up with questions or requests for more information.
- Proofread carefully: Check for typos, grammatical errors, and clarity before submitting your press release.
By following these guidelines, you can create a well-crafted press release that effectively communicates your news and captures the attention of your target audience.
